Meet Stephen Kelleher, DMD in New York

Dr. Stephen Kelleher is a highly trained board-eligible periodontist dedicated to exceptional, patient-centered care. He earned his DMD from Case Western Reserve University, and went on to complete three years of advanced specialty training in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the prestigious New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry, where he served as chief resident of his class.

Dr. Kelleher has been widely recognized with several awards throughout his career. He was honored with the 2024 New Periodontist Scholarship Award by the American Academy of Periodontology, named an Ambassador of the Osteology Foundation for his expertise in oral tissue regeneration, and received the Outstanding Student Award from the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Kelleher’s commitment to excellence also earned him an award for outstanding service from the NYU Department of Periodontics.

Dr. Kelleher’s clinical expertise includes all facets of periodontal and implant procedures, with a special focus on hard and soft tissue regeneration (bone and gum grafting), periodontal surgery, as well as gum disease treatment and laser therapy. He also received additional training and is certified to provide Pinhole® Surgical Technique (Pinhole® Gum Rejuvenation), a technique to treat gum recession without harvesting the patient’s own donor tissue from the palate. Dr. Kelleher takes pride in a minimally invasive approach and treating each patient as if they were a family member.

Outside the office, Dr. Kelleher enjoys exploring new restaurants, staying active outdoors, and spending quality time with family and friends.
